In Bath, Michigan, there is an annual bathtub race, and here in Alpena, we have a rubber ducky race on the Thunder Bay River. Does anybody know where the roots of these races are?

Dragon boat racing actually originated in China, though I think we can all appreciate how it might seem to be a Northern European thing!
