Sooo. Surveying the damage of last night, I can see that it wasn't next door something burned.. it was out brand new toolshed.

Fire last night, not quite sure how it started. The shed is completely gone, but nothing else is too damaged, and noone got hurt... still... seems like it was intentionally set on fire. Not a nice thought.

I'm sorry. I've cut contact with my mother too. It's hard, but it gets easier. And, for me at least, it has been a huge relief. You gotta do what's best for yourself.

We have fungus in our appartment, we finally got someone to look at it. But we'll probably need another place to stay while they do because it's pretty extensive in all the walls on one side of the building...
We have wanted to move for a while anyway, but finding something is hard. Today I found a nice affordable place with a small garden! I immediately contacted the owner, and it didn't take long before he answered. The thing is the phone number he wrote from isn't danish, I looked it up and it's from the uk. Also, the message was in english where the original advert was written in perfect danish. He told me to contact him on an email adress, so I looked it up... and got one hit - on a page warning against scammers. Someone else has had dealings with hiqm just laft week, she posted the whole conversation. It started off fine, him explaining that he's english and his wife is danish but they're moving to the uk so they're renting out their house. Then he cancels the showing because they're out of town. Then there's no time to show the house because they're moving now. Then it starts getting weird (also, yhe english gets worse and worse) because apparently a uk law prevents them from letting her see the house, but if she gives an adress and transfers money to an agency they'll send her the keys. She has a friend in the uk look up the adress of this agency and finds that it's a private house... so she put it on a scam page. I agree, it looks just a bit too weird. And there are a few responses on the board from people who have had similar encounters with the same person... on 3 other houses.. hmph. I hate scammers.

Yeah we get a lot of those here, big city with a lot of people coming in and out and all. It's always the exact same story, and sadly so many people fall for it. It can be really hard to find an affordable apartment in Berlin these days, and a lot of scammers are taking advantage of that. The general rule is that if you can't go see it with your own eyes, it's a scam. There is no place in the developed world where law would keep a landlord from showing an apartment, and anyone genuinely out of town can pass the services on to a letting agency (I don't know about Denmark, but in Germany the incoming tenant always pays the fees for these services, so there is absolutely no downside for a property owner to use one).

I've cut contact with my mother as well. It seems to be one of those situations that's more common than we thing, but never discussed.

I believe from my experience it has to do with control,parents at times have a hard time seeing their children as adults. They get the idea they are always in charge.

I myself always figured,worry they may screw up,BUT I remember all my screw ups...and figure they will get through them,and unless they come to me for advice or help...they are ok..BUT they know they can come with no strings attached.

Pissed at the apartment manager..was told they repaired the roof,so the leaks would stop,BUT it is raining today,and right over the windows it is leaking.
Really,even in a HUD building,still the same old BS.

Also it should NOT be raining in Feb,it is still winter.

I was supposed to spend the day with my dad. My mom was going away on a trip with her job, coming back friday, so ge had taken the day off to be with me (I don't really have time with him normally because my mom doesn't know we even talk)... about 10 minutes after he came to pick me up she texted him that she wasn't going after all. So there goes our plans. We managed half an hour of visiting my grandmother... and then we had to go back so he wouldn't be home too late... I was hoping to have tomorrow evening with him too, but no... *sigh*... I just don't think it's fair that I can't have a dad because my mom is sick.

~Le sigh. My electric blankee is dying. It doesn't get as warm as it used to. And I found out tomorrow is the last day I can return it for a refund.

So thankfully I have kept the box at work in the cash office! I don't have my receipt, but I do have my on-line copy on my phone from Walmart. So I'm going to take it back in the box next door to my work.

I then found the same one (It's sold out at Walmart) on amazon. It's more. But I am paying for next day delivery. I don't want to go one night without a heated blanket. We live in an old house. So I'm paying more for that, buuuut I have enough money on my amazon rewards to get that covered. So with the refund, I'll still be paying an additional $11. But I'm ok with that. I am just annoyed I have to do all this to get a heated blanket the same night.

~Le colder sigh but hopefully tomorrow a cozier, warmer one.

Gahhhhh stupid slow Internet is ruining my life.

I don't just mean that out of frustration, either. I work online, and when page loading speeds aren't fast, it can take me twice as long to do my job.

Acting is... I love it, but navigating the sea of fake jobs and porn to find the legit jobs... urgh. I figured it out when they offered me a ridiculous amount of money for a short film, and even more if I'd find a few girlfriends -.-... so.. I 'm just not gonna go to that casting.
