Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.
Tom Wolfe, the author whose groundbreaking and radiant journalism helped create a new genre of nonfiction in books like "The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" and "The Right Stuff," has died. He was 88.

I'm very saddened by the loss of this Jersey boy. I think there are a lot more suicides than we acknowledge. Some stuff about David Cassidy has just come to light (there's going to be a show about him on A&E Monday) such as he never stopped drinking and did not have dementia. A lot of us fans "knew" this, but apparently his family didn't??? That makes no sense. I don't know anything about Kate Spade, and not much about Anthony Bourdain, when it comes to personal life, so I can't speculate there. I really enjoyed Bourdain's show, though. I imagine him in the hereafter having a very spirited conversation with Steve Irwin!
