    Physics % Physiotherapy

Does anyone know whether the physics subject is enough or not to learn physiotherapy in the university in the future? It looks pretty interesting.
    Thanks in advance.

Depends on the uni. Some have prerequisites, some don't. Some have 'assumed knowledge', some don't. Which uni?

I know that people here in South Australia had to have very very high tertiary entrance rankings to get into Physio, because it's so popular. But I don't know if there were any prerequisites.

It's a standard university. It's not meant for one sector specifically. There is a medical section, science & technology section and so on...

But this one is considered to be a high ranked uni. So probably it's not going to be very easy to be accepted to Physio.

Standard university doesn't mean much to me. There are three here, all are standard, but all have different prerequisites/assumed knowledge for teaching degrees (what I did). I would find their Physio course statement, eligibility conditions etc. Then when you know what you HAVE to do, do those in your senior years, plus things you are good at and enjoy, because you want to get a high score, and have the required knowledge.

Requirements tend to vary a lot by country and even by individual program. If you're in your last year of school, I'd start rounding up universities and programs that appeal to you and look up their entrance requirements. If you can't find them, don't be afraid to ask. Most universities are happy to point you in the right direction!

I dunno, its not *that* hard to get into a program here (provided you have good grades and lots of science classes). Usually (at least) A&P 1&2, Bio 1&2, Chem 1&2, Physics 1&2, Psych and Statistics. Some programs here require a bachelor's degree, a few don't. You need to take the GRE if its a post-bacc program. Often some letters of recommendation, volunteer time, etc. Its fairly similar to getting into graduate school.

A number of schools use Physical Therapy Centralized Admissions Service (PTCAS) to determine eligibility--their list is a bit more extensive. I don't have a good handle on how college works in other countries, but here in the US, what you do in high school doesn't really affect much beyond getting in to a college. Another option here is being a PT assistant and going to school part time for further education (which your employer may even pay for).

As an example, this is the requirement from a local college:

Applicants to the program must have a bachelor's degree, at least 80 volunteer hours in a physical therapy setting (40 hours of acute care), three letters of reference (one from a physical therapist), and an overall grade point average of 3.0. All applicants must take the GRE. Prerequisites include 8 hours of general chemistry w/lab; 8 hours of physics; 4 hours of general biology w/lab; 8 hours of human anatomy & physiology; 3 hours of statistics; 3 hours of psychology; and 3 hours of social science (2nd psychology, anthropology or sociology). Educational sessions begin during the last week in June. Application deadline is the first Monday each November. Applications received after that date will be considered on a case-by-case basis until the class is filled. Approximately 30% of qualified applicants are admitted to the program.

Hm... I definitely need to check out the necessary subjects for this one. Thanks everyone!
I don't study chemistry or biology. But I do study physics. That's why I was asking actually.

After checking, I say "bye bye physiotherapy".... Biology is needed in order to study physiotherapy in the university. Meh... Still I am not completely out of options.

I know people who were not able to do physio for various reasons, so they studied 'human movement' instead, and a year or two on, with the right grades they were able to transfer over.

Still might need bio for human movement, but, options!

What is 'human movement'? Is it like human anatomy?

                        Thanks
In my high school we have the 'social science' subject, which is basically the same for psychology. That is why 'human movement' reminds me of anatomy.
