    Midsummer / Litha Greetings!

(It's a bit crappy, I drew it on a train. And the characters are completely random. I'm childish and cheesy, I know. :P)

So, happy Midsummer/Litha/whatever you celebrate! Any plans?

We are making a sunwheel with big sticks and fabric scraps. We *were* going to do it outside, but its supposed to be stormy...so we'll see.

Supposed to be stormy by us too. Is something coming up the coast? This is my first year as Heathen on Midsummer, so I really don't know what to do. I could pour a libation outside even during the storms. Maybe rain and thunder storms on Midsummer are auspicious, three gods are involved after all... Sunna, Freyr and Thor.

        What an adorable drawing!!!
        Love it

I was thinking about taking the dogs to a dog beach I've recently discovered and having a picnic/rite there, but I hadn't thought to check the weather until reading the other comments

My app is showing the thunderstorm icon....

Not sure what I'm going to do now; probably just a rite in my room or maybe briefly in the backyard if the rain isn't to bad and my sister is out so she doesn't have more reasons to call me a weirdo

Thanks peeps! I had fun drawing it. (You know, the Awaken Your Inner Child thing...)

It has been raining here too. So, it has been drinking mead and eating well for me.

I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, so we had our Solstice celebration yesterday evening. We had a barbecue in my dad's garden, with loads of lovely vegetables. Then we all went inside and did what brits do best; glugged our way through locally brewed real ale and wine.

It was a nice end to a very busy week of socialisng.
夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?

I think it's very beautiful Nare. I think it is supposed to storm here in WV so I am probably going to pray and meditate. We'll see. Happy Midsummer!

Doing two celebrations at once. Father's Day and Midsummer Barbecue as we cook out and make a large bonfire in the backyard. Only issue is I am cooking food I cannot eat as I am eating only vegan for health reasons. Of course my family chose a Santa Maria tri-tip(my favorite!Grr) for the cookout. Nice thing though is we have corn on te cob I get to put over the fire in the husks, so, yay/yummy!

I slept through the sunrise, so I feel a bit silly. Been at this for less than a year and I'm on a budget this month, so I can't do anything fancy. Maybe I'll give an offering and/or go over to my mother's house to cook hot dogs with my family. I'll have to remember that it is very important that, should I take a teensy nap, I don't sleep through the sunset. Alas, my only regret is that I'm not a morning person. Since it's 7 AM while I'm writing this post, I'd say I'm doing remarkably well without coffee.

Sadly, I'll be at work today. I'll try to sneak a minute here and there to take it all in.

Hope everyone else has a great day.

Haha that's a nice drawing actually!

I will probably do more real prayers and such later today but this morning I said a quick couple of prayers to Sunna (as well as Brigid) before putting on my dagaz ("day") rune necklace. I thought that it would be the perfect thing to wear today.

                        Haha nice drawing!

This morning I really only had time to say a couple prayers, to Sunna as well as Brigid, before putting on my dagaz rune necklace. I thought it was the perfect thing to wear today. I figure I'll say more later in the day. My cousin's college graduation party was yesterday so my family got together with my cousin's and we had fun being together, with ale (my cousin's dad actually unveiled his first attempt at making beer haha), and some excellent sausages + much other food. So while I didn't really pray or do much yesterday, I think I count reveling with family as something sorta sacred. And so I guess my midsummer festivities were yesterday

Spent it in the field for two days teaching new search and rescue recruits. It was great though. As an aside, I taught them about what to eat and drink in our forests, and made them labrador and spruce tip tea when we got back to camp that night (I was foraging while they were doing their exercise)

We drank from the forest on the solstice.

Thank you for the drawing it's wonderful!

I recently moved and decided the Solstice was a great day to properly dress the altar for realz...so I went digging through my boxes trying to locate altar cloths etc. I really wanted to find the enamaled rooster my boyfriend gave me for the Winter Solstice..which led to me opening about 20 other boxes and digging through them (it was in none of them!) and finding a lot of wonderful things that took me down memory lane. Then the rooster turned up in a rather absurd place and I dressed the altar, lit candles, listened to my Song of Sun music, did a guided meditation and felt really blessed and grateful.

Talked to my boyfriend on the phone and we talked about our Solstice this year and past Solstices together.
