Of course we never really tasted them but sort of swallowed the drink whole sometimes not even pausing to catch a breath near as I recall now.       LOL - get it very cold, pop it, swallow in one continuous stream, and it's fine. 'Course, same is true of stump water...

        No I completely agree it sucks 110% There are plenty of beverages I'd prefer to drink. Even really cold and in one continuous swallow its still awful.

          I know I know. It was more of a satiric post. I have a couple friends down south, and they are nothing like that. It's more of the standardized stereotypical southern population I may have been referring to.

            It's a good question. I know that over here, a lot of people are saying, "wait, if they could do it, why can't we?"

            Of course, the referendum in Greece and the threat of the Grexit are taking up a lot more political discourse at the moment. I'm sure the issue will return, though.

              I'm southern, born and raised, and your comment didn't offend me. You summed up white Southern culture fairly well. In fact, it read a lot like some of my extended relatives' FB statuses this past week. Before un-following them my feed was a sea of "Heritage, not hate. If you don't like Southern pride, you can leave!" rebel flag memes, peppered with lots of homophobic rants.

                  I've heard that conservatives give big talk about the baybeez being blessings, but in reality they view it more as a woman being punished by their god for having sex. Because we can't have women taking charge of their own sexuality. What if it makes the crops fail? Ehmagerd, what if the wimmenz date other ladies? They won't be able to be punished for their fornications by getting pregnant! Their gay love will surely make the crops fail! It will rain fire and locusts! Doom and gloom! Pearl-clutching!

                                Well it's been a while. Gaypocalpyse didn't happen. I bet those Christians are angry. I've seen no children being molested (except by the usual straight males). I see no orgies (except the porno of the straight people getting it on). No penguins marrying ladies. Or men marrying manatees. I've seen nuttin.
