    Poetry to Freya

I think I will try to write a poem to Freya every week, on Fridays. It seems to be the appropriate day. I understand that Frigg can also factor into "Friday" but I don't know as much about her (yet).

I have already written a few poems; here's the latest one I did today. I thought that I'd give it sort of feeling of unification

To you O goddess we hail,
Over hill and glen and dale,
    Across the great wide ocean
    With real and true emotion!
May faith in you never fail!

If there wouldn't be objections, and if I were to actually remember, perhaps I could post my weekly poetry here? Most so far have been sonnets, and this is the only Limerick. I might try to change it up between those two and also with other types of poems.

    Re: Poetry to Freya

I say go for it! Lately Freya's been reaching out to me for some reason or another that I've yet to discover, and it would be great to see some attention tossed her way!

Every Freyjaday, I pick new flowers for her altar. Poetry sounds like an excellent idea as well
"In the shade now tall forms are advancing,
      And their wan hands like snowflakes in the moonlight are gleaming;
They beckon, they whisper, 'Oh! strong armed in valor,
The pale guests await thee - mead foams in Valhalla.'"

          Thanks guys!

@Thorbjorn - ah that's a cool site, thanks for sharing.

Not entirely sure how I feel about this one, but maybe it is good . It feels a bit pitiful maybe, at least at first. (this one's from a couple weeks or so ago):

          I see others love
          Putting on display their heart
          As if it was fair like a dove;
          Would, that I could start.

          It seems useless to try
          And reach out anymore,
          My efforts seem to die
          And leave myself sore.

I used to think it was God's plan
          Especially that one time,
          But not anymore, and,
          Now higher I shall climb.

Freya, in you I have faith,
To she youintend, I'll go as you saith.

(no hard feelings if you don't like it lol)

            Re: Poetry to Freya

Forgot to do a poem for Freya yesterday :/ but I just promised her I'd do one now.

Many are the ways to love,
            Uncharacteristic of
            Two interested parties--
Though that is in the movies.
It's the land too, I speak of.

(thought a nice nature sort of picture was in order--this is in Norway apparently;t he scenery reminds me a lot of Glacier National Park, Montana where I visited a few years ago)
