    Whats your symbol?

What symbol do you find most representative of your faith?

    Re: Whats your symbol?

I don't mind the pentagram/pentacle, even though I don't recognise Spirit as part of my faith.

I like the Triple Moon, though I do feel it is overused sometimes.

I think the one I like the best is the triskele, trefoil, and triquetra because there's a lot of trinity symbolism in what I do.

Then I use symbols for my Gods: a white horse/the moon/dogs/birds for Rhiannon, lighting/spears/the right arm for Lugh, an owl/helmet/spear for Athena, a lotus for Kwan Yin, etc.

I got my war paint on and I'm off to go passive-aggressive all over these socially awkward man-witches. :XD:

ecMA4ebbi.jpg I've always loved these, because they make me feel like all the separate aspects of myself can exist together.

I still and probably always will draw some comfort from the cross, but it depends on the variation (not too gawdy, etc). I do also like the Celtic cross and Ankh as well.

I like the Pentacle, but i'm a big fan of the Ankh and the Eye of Horus. The Ankh has always drawn me to it. The Eye of Horus recently drew me to it. I don't know if it is because of the tarot cards I have been using, but I love the symbology of it.

So...I actually like the element symbols from Airbender: The Last Avatar better than the "real" ones...

But as a single symbol, I'm fond of the parabolic spiral, or Fermat's spiral...

              Surprise!!!

A double ouroboros, rising from the waters, with a little fish inside...

For an explanation, see The Fish Story
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Wow...that broke my eyes. Very cool, though :-D

And I agree. I like the Avatar symbols.

(I actually like the Seven from A Song of Ice and Fire as templates)

                  Re: Whats your symbol?

I don't have any images to show you, but I made my own symbol of a spiral with 3 strokes either side (a bit like cat whiskers, but they're meant to be magpie wings), a dot above to represent my main guide, and 3 dots below to represent my 3 supporter guides. I used to wear this as a pendant and I also have a stone with the symbol painted on, that I'd hold when I first started going to Rotokia when meditating. I guess this would be the closest thing to a symbol of my own personal path.

I've been thinking about using this image again for some time. Or maybe I should update it now that I have two inner worlds and more guides.

My avatar is of the Seal of Uriel, and I wear a pendant with the seal. Even while working with other entities, Uriel is the one who I've worked with the longest.

I like this. I feel like it represents both the Native American Spiral which connects to where I live now, and Cernunnos which represents my Ancestral people.

I'm a fan of quartered circles. Whether they're representative of my beliefs may or may not depend on what you think they mean.

No, I'm not intending to explain.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

I had a necklace with that one I wore a lot. But one day I just couldn't find it. I wear the rune Jera now.

Well, I have no set symbol but there are some that I tend to doodle and they certainly have something Pagan in them:
A pine bough, a drop shaped symbol with some ornaments on it, a feather (sometimes I don't know the difference between this and the pine bough) and sometimes a hand (I've been gravitating away from this one).

I also have a raven pendant as ravens (and corvids) are important symbols to me. Despite of all the goth vibes.

Then there was an eye symbol that can be seen in my avatar. But it usually existed only in drawings with fictional characters that had a certain vague fictional religion. But the symbol was still important for me personally, as it was something that represented the notion of following a spiritual path, it was also a symbol of wisdom and warding off evil and the story where it first appeared was important for me spiritually. (And a bit Pagan, which I wasn't back then.)
But I wasn't fond of the idea of having a self-made symbol so it had to go...
                              baah.
