Thread: Little Cassidy Kitten Updates!

Poor thing. But even for animals, a positive attitude can work wonders. (Sounds a bit cheesy but I've heard some real life examples about that) I hope it does in his case too.

Most people tend to accept disabilities but animals rarely do. Animals just go on being what they are. Severe disabilities get animals served as dinner so they either adapt or die.

Well, this little guy has reached like gladiator level of willingness to fight to live. He scoots, runs, shuffles, and rolls around with the best of them. Once he gets up to weight for his age there will be no stopping him!

Another one! Cassidy had another vet visit about his leg, and they've noticed that because of the lack of a tendon, the muscle is pulling his left leg in a strange direction as it's growing. They're going to give him a week to gain more weight before he goes back again for sedation x-rays so they can really get a good look. It was way too hard to get good x-rays with him trying to scamper about.

He also climbed up 4 stairs all by himself today, and while that doesn't seem like a big deal, YOU try climbing up steps that are taller than you are without any feet!

Cassidy just took his first steps with a little wheelchair!

And, he's started to purr more and more, so he's definitely getting healthy.

    Well done Cassidy!
夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?

I follow Cassidy the bi pawed miracle kitten on Facebook, and I love that little guy. He is so lucky to have been picked up by Shelly! He gets to be happy and healthy now!

I feel sorry for the one that gets to clean his chair.

If you've ever taken the time to actually go and check out the site and watch Shelly, she is an absolute angel with those cats, especially Cassidy. Just the other day, she was giving him some much needed human and cat socialization, when he started to pee. Realizing that she had forgotten to bring up a litter box for him, she picked him up with one hand cupped underneath until she was able to get him to a sink. Someone with that level of dedication and lack of squeamishness would, I doubt, have any issues using a little towel and bleach on a small bit of canvas.

The chair is, in fact, simply a temporary thing they are hoping just to give the little guy a bit more mobility for a time. He's gotten really good as scooting about with his little stumps, though it would be better if the left one was growing properly. As of right now, Shelly said that he's gotten up to about 50% accuracy with using the littler box. Not too bad for a kitty who had an initial diagnosis of most likely not ever being able to pee or poop unassisted due to developmental troubles from malnutrition and the such.
