    go anywhere with my magic teleporting box...

    I have a magical teleporting box (not really), and I am willing to give you (and a guest or two) one round trip vacation to a single location and time period of your choice--AND ONLY ONE. Fictional locations too...and you can stay as long as you want (but not forever). The caveat is that once you go to this one place, you will never be able to travel again (in the box).

    Where would you go? Who would you take? What would you do?

    No but really. I'm so torn.

    I would bring my husband, because he's my beat friend and he's the one I would want to share an experience like that with. I would want to go see the druids. No! vikings. No... ancient egypt...
    Shakespeare's England, I think. Because that seems like my best bet at returning home alive... but also because I just always wanted to see the man himself. Imagine being at the premiere of some of his plays! So yea. I'd go watch the very first premiere of one of Shakespeare's plays... probably one of the comedies.

      Are fictional locations valid options?

            Well there's a Jedi library on Ossus that might be fun if I can get the timing right (I'd prefer not to arrive during a Sith raid) but I might be better off with Dweomerheart (this is very timing dependent, the place gets blown up in 1385 DR). Hmm, study at a Jedi library or meet Mystra....

            Those are the current front runners but I'm not sure between them and something else may get a say later. As for what I do...

            One is one of the better Jedi Libraries and the other is the home plane of a Goddess of Magic, I study everything.

            Don't know who I'd bring along.

                      I've wanted to go to Japan all my life, and have a friend who has also been wanting to go. I'd take her during Hanami (cherry blossom viewing), and leave when I got arrested for fighting someone for a spot.

                          Hmm, good question. Bronze Age Britain, when the population was a fraction of what it is now, where you could go days and not see anyone outside of your community. It's the period of history that most intrigues me. I want to know what they believed, and what life was like. Just HOW complex was civilization? It was certainly not a bunch of barbarians that classicists have tried to make out.

                            Hmmm... a trip to temerant (patrick rothfuss, kingkiller chronicles) would be awesome. A roundtrip of the place university in imre, vintas, ademre, possibly the fae. I may not survive, but it would be wirth it.

                              Wow, all these great answers. I changed my mind. I want to go to Alexandria, Egypt, to the library before it was burned. I want to take as many books with me as I canm to save them from the fire.
