I'll get back to you on this later. It doesn't appear as part of the title when I open up the edit options and it isn't a thread prefix so I'm gonna have to go looking for it unless Juni or Thal drop in with an explanation.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

    Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Yeah, I saw that too. I thought "he looks like he's in rough shape." But, I figured he was getting older, and he's managed to look amazingly young until fairly recently, so I just assumed time had caught up with him.

Because when you created the thread, you must have (I'm guessing, accidentally or inadvertently) clicked on the thumps up icon for the Post Icons. Would you like me to remove it?

^ Bowie is a great name for a puppy though!

I only just learnt that his sister is in the Big Brother house. Or was. I'm going to hope they've taken her to one side and let her hear the news off camera.

Me, too. When your movie/tv stars & singers go, with them go the things we use to mark the passage of our own lives. I remember hearing "Golden Years" in college, and my ex-husband singing along "ashes to ashes, funk to funky, we know Major Tom's a junkie", and then playing "Changes" when Grandpa died. A lot of the moments of our lives have a song connected to them, and many of those songs just happened to be Bowie's, for many of us.

I do believe he remained alive long enough, even feeling close to death,to lay down his spiritual goodbye.

My take,at least, and I understand about where he was aiming for in the moment of his passing.

I saw somewhere that he had been planning for the album to come out at the time of his death for almost a year. It's a strangely beautiful gesture.

Just something that came to me.

                                Every moment

Every moment,I breath a little of my last breath
Every day I see a small part of the eternity just a heartbeat away
Every small child's laughter,I feel the meaning of the why
Every broken man and woman screams for the lost promise

Every sight of sunset, calls across the vast divide
every break of daylight reminds me of the awakening
Every smiling wondering seeker, beams the secret of the light
every morning bared in the mist of life,I feel once again born
MAGIC is MAGIC,black OR white or even blood RED
