Whoa. I went through adolescence listening to his voice.

That's the whole reason I'm on pf tonight. I used to tell myself "I'll be fine; Chester Bennington's depressed, and he might not be cheerful, but he's still going." This is kind of a gut punch for me.

Pudsey the Dog has died at 11. Very sad for Ashley. Never much cared for Britain's got Talent but I always enjoyed free style to music when Crufts was on so was pleased when I heard a dancing dog had won the gods awful show! Rip little hair ball!

夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?

            Re: Celebrity Death Notice Thread

I think perhaps when it comes to celebrities, I am a bit of the odd man out. I have, to my knowledge, ever idolized or truly followed the goings on and lives of any of them, nor has it ever been an impact upon my life if they were alive or dead. In fact, many times it makes me angry to hear all the uproar and upset and sadness that comes after one dies. What about the other thousands of people who died that day as well? So you are good at making music, so you are good at hitting a ball with a stick. But a child you never heard of is gone after bringing endless joy to his or her family. An elderly woman passed on after bestowing hundreds of years of knowledge and stories yet you didn't even know she existed.

A celebrity death is not a tragedy. It's a death. Just like any other that happens every single day. A man gunning gown hundreds of kids in a schoolyard is a tragedy. But the loss of a single person who you only know because media says you should? Nope.

I feel the same way when anyone dies. Ive only had to deal with my grandma passing but it was not hard on me at all. Do not get me wrong she was my favorite grandma just cause I seen her all the time and I was a little sad but it seemed to pass over me any ill feelings towards death. We come, we go.

While I agree with your sentiment...I also disagree.

Music is an especially deceiving creature. The musician(s) writing things down and singing them to you is just that. Words and songs. But music lives in the one part of your soul you let in without reservation. Music lives inside where there is no wall from you. No protection. You open up and say...this is me. This song. This lyric. It's me. It's me and someone else gets it and I'm not alone.

And then you are. And then you think that part of me is dead. And with suicide comes the idea way down inside...I am dead.

It sucks. It's not logical. But there you have it.

Here in France some big news site (20minutes is the name of it) mistook Malcolm for Angus and they posted a top 5 best AC/DC solos, all performed by Angus... bunch of idiots. Zero journalistic rigor.

It's been a long, sad day among the Cassidy fans. There was a very unique thing going on there, with those of us who were just about 13 when he rose to fame. "I Think I Love You" was the #1 song 47 years ago. I'm glad I was just the right age for Cassidy-mania. Besides all that "teen idol" stuff, he was very involved in the thoroughbred world. A couple of my friends spent a day with him at a horse auction in Saratoga a few years ago (one of them dated him for a while) and I wish I'd been there. I'm glad I got to a couple of his shows and got to hold hands with him. I'll never forget that moment.
