This may be of little solace, but there is a lot of support to the concept that it's the quality of the time you spend with your children and family that matters, not the quantity. The time will go fast and that pay bump would get you and your family a well-deserved vacation to celebrate and make up for the time in the end.
That would be awesome. We're hoping I'll have enough extra that I'll be able to take a month or two off between finishing school and and taking my boards / starting an internship. And that between that an taking out of retirement, we'll be able to afford to go to psg next summer, and Colorado next winter (2020/2021).

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

Yay! It helps to plan ahead and while I won't say clinicals / internships go quickly per say, they do end and when they do the sky is the limit and that freedom really is felt. It will all be worth it!

I just joined a neighborhood community thing called "nextdoor". Feels like a Facebook for local neighborhoods. I'm still on the fence about whether I like this. But I actually now know the names of my neighbors. I suppose that's something.

Me too. I’m a little sad that climbing was banned.

I've heard about nextdoor but I haven't been convinced it'll do anything good for me.

The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the power of the Force.

Every once in a great while, Microsoft programmers manage to impress me. I'm rather fond of their Android Launcher.
"It is not simply enough to know the light…a Jedi must feel the tension between the two sides of the Force…in himself and in the universe."
    ―Thon

"When to the Force you truly give yourself, all you do expresses the truth of who you are,"

    Yoda

Yoda told stories, and ate, and cried, and laughed: and the Padawans saw that life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

    Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

Because of it, I found out apparently some kinds blew up a port-a-potty around here. But that's not really that useful to me.

I miss anubisa. I hope she returns to this forum so she can critique my Pathfinder story and my other story in this forum.

Just sitting here wishing this pain and pulsing in my back and spine would stop. Had surgery on my spine a few days ago and they had to chip away a small piece of the bone to get to the area to be be worked on. Drained away 2 cc's of fluid from the area and part of the process which helped by relieving the bands wrapping about my chest. Lovely to be able to breath again. But the lightning bolts shooting around the ribs and all still poke through once in a while. On the plus side haven't had a seizure since the operation so maybe the nerve was causing more things to be impacted like we though.
