    I promise I will heed your advice to the letter, ma'am. :^^:
    I'm currently looking into how my Choctaw ancestors survived the winters, and fashion my clothing off of the traditional garb. Not only will it help me connect with my roots, but it'll also be more practical than trying to reinvent the wheel so to speak; I'm definitely considering heading to the reservation in Oklahoma to obtain training from the elders firsthand.

Our water is polluted and it doesn't matter where you go, it's not particularly safe to drink even boiled. You also need to look into where you can go. Most forests in the USA don't allow permanent or even semi permanent structures to be built and often have a 1-3 week clause for staying in one place even off trail. Into the Wild is a great movie, btw...
    That's not entirely true; in my region, which has a relatively high altitude, and relatively lower population than most metropolitan areas, the combination of freshwater springs mixed with the clean air is perfectly safe to drink after boiling it for an hour just to be safe; boiling it kills any and all bacteria, (that we know of), that might be lingering in it, which probably wouldn't kill you even if you drank it fresh from the stream, because chances are, the frigid temperatures would've killed off most micro-organisms that got caught in it's embrace. I have yet to hear of any bacteria that can survive being boiled alive; at least in these parts haha; maybe on Mars or the bottom of the ocean; there's some extremophiles out there that'd probably be able to survive...them and what army, right? :XD laugh:

    Yes; I'm going to have to keep a low profile and move around a little just to be on the safe side.

    Yes; Into the Wild was a good movie; pretty sad though. Should've looked before he leapt.

    I'm thinking of going to Montana Creek further west of me, a bit south; I hear that's a plentiful source of obsidian, which is one of the sharpest substances known to man, and famous for being used by the Native Americans to flintknap phenomenally high-quality blades and arrow heads, which would then often be secured to a handle, or shaft of an arrow, using the aid of pine sap glue; you can find videos of how to make it yourself directly from Nature. ::

I'm having to review a lot of my anatomy for nearby structures, muscles, etc. It's good practice, but it's taken longer than I would like to feel even a little comfortable with the material.
    That...is...AWESOME! :=o:

      It's not bacteria so much as everything else that is leaching into our water system. Chemicals, heavy metals, etc. I remember reading that in the mountains, there's a good chance the water has been contaminated by mining, even if the mines have been closed for decades, for instance.

      I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
      It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
      Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

          I've been working on sugar consumption, etc. I have an app I'm using to track it, and I've been watching calorie intake as well. Some days I do really good and others are just sort of blaw. I can almost guarantee that if I eat a bowl of cereal or drink a glass of chocolate milk (one glass) I'll go over my sugar consumption for the day (25g/day). So that sucks. I have been counting all sugars though, not just added sugar, and I'm going to talk to the doc about whether I can subtract what it adds for fruit for instance. I did decide to up the calorie restriction a bit from 1300 to 1500 on my gf's advice. I have lost 5 pounds in two weeks, but 4 of those were from the first week so... shrug.

            No but seriously I've been doing SO FRIGGING WELL on Keto, 25kg down in 4 months and still going down not even doing excercise, plus the short term effects are definitely a plus. Be wary of side effects though!

                It does cause some impressive weight loss, but it's not particularly healthy for the average person, long term (this from various articles and my doctor). And it's extremely hard for a vegetarian to do keto.

                  Oh, yeah being a vegetarian can be an issue BUT, you don't need to be on keto all the time, really. It's the metabolic reset that's very beneficial! Also, many people thrive in a paleo/primal diet until their death, and to my understanding it's very similar to keto when it comes to macro nutrients

                  There's also some studies that did not find any adverse effects for long term keto (they go up to 5 years, mostly focused on diabetics and people with bone structure issues though). I wasn't particularly unhealthy, just overweight, but it seems to be doing wonders for some other stuff Also I like fat foods, and was never much into sugars/carbs in the first place, so I'm 100% happy with this :P

                            Right this second, probably doesn't. The test will need to be repeated and analyzed for loopholes that might influence it. After that, it depends on the scale of the effect. Taking the test at face value, we still only have mutually exclusive realities at a very small scale. They want to design tests for larger more complicated mutually exclusive realities later. I expect to see knock on effects from those tests.

                                We are planning to go to a theme park this summer. We're trying to decide whether to do it with a pregnant partner, or a new baby. Baby would be 6 weeks oldish when we went, and it would be August heat... Nova was six months old when I took her the first time, she was a winter baby. This baby is due end of June. Pregnant partner probably can't get the time off work before having baby on a weekday and I can't get time off on a weekend, but she really wants to go. She doesn't care about riding crazy rides, she just wants to get out and have some fun. I also don't think she'll be ready to leave baby home with a sitter for a whole day at that point, especially since she'll be breastfeeding. Ugh, idk.
