Hello everybody. I feel like that I want to ask an important question to everyone. Does being famous important to you. Welfor me being famous isn't imporant to me. The reason why I said that is ever since I was a teenager I always wanted to be popular at school. Well I did join the basketball team when I first attended my Special Education school. And I was pretty well-known at school because of my powerful defense and so many fouls with other basketball players. I was semi-popular to be honest. At time goes by I realized that popularity isn't as important that I thought it was. To me, popularity is meaningless and espically in forums, social media and Youtube. I watch some famous Youtube videos and that person got over a million of subscribers. But to be honest that Youtuber is pure garbage. So to me being famous is meaningless. What is everybody else opinion on this topic?

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
Being famous/popular invites all sorts of opinions, critiques, suggestions, responsibility, etc that I have absolutely no time for. So, BEING famous/popular is obviously not my cup of tea and therefore I also tend to stay away from those who are.Experience is what you get when you didn't get what you wanted. And experience is often the most valuable thing you have to offer.

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
Fame isn't necessarily useful to me, it's too broad and comes at a cost in how much effort is necessary to maintain my privacy.
Reputation has value. Reputation can provide opportunities that may not be available otherwise. Reputation is also relatively easy to damage and is generally best maintained by living up to what you want to be known for.life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper
"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."
Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
I got a taste of what being "KNOWN" is like when an ex girlriend's cousin who won gold in the Olympics came to SF for the bay to breakers marathon,to do the opening bell.
we hung out for a bit,and people would just stop him,and he had no privacy, even being with him was weird when people noticed him, At that time I realized I would never want to be famous ever.MAGIC is MAGIC,black OR white or even blood RED

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
This is an interesting question for me. As a whole, no, that was never what mattered to me. But. I'm am actor. I've had to give this a lot of thought when I started out because being successful would mean exactly that... Now I have no huge parts to my name, I enjoy the very modest kind where once in a blue moon someone thinks they've seen me in something but can't quite remember what. I've had a chance to speak to some more successful. I'm also friends with two who made it big as children, and absolutely crashed under the pressure. So I know the dangers of it very well.
So no. It's not a goal. But it's something that comes with the territory. And it absolutely comes at a cost. Privacy and normalcy are big prices to pay.You remind me of the babe

I prefer to be invisible.Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
Someone at work asked me if I ever wanted to work myself up to manager. Seeing how popular my manager is with a 1000 phone calls, emails and people coming to his desk all day (even on his lunch break) and all the meetings he has to attend to... the answer for me is a big NO. I'm fine where I am.
I've never fancied being in the spotlights. I like to stay in the shadows with others who like it there.

Yeah I'd like to be famous, but not like overwhelmingly. I'm a musician after all, and all I want are masses to hear my music.

Re: Does Being Famous Important To You?
Not at all. I war within myself being two viewpoints:
1) I would like to be well respected in either the scientific community, the art community, or the writing community.
2) When I die, I want to leave not a trace of myself behind for rememberance. Not an offspring, not material possessions, nothing. I want to fade into the air and the sky and the dirt like I'd never existed. Like the face of the earth experienced no change with my being, and no change with my passing.
So no, I don't want to be famous.
