I feel this. My papers are all due during finals. I've got one more due tomorrow and another on the 7th, my three finals run go from the 2-4th. At least I can chill a bit when this is finally over. My uni is compressing both semesters (ie they removed all the breaks) so we get a bit longer for winter break. We only are getting a spring break because the SA complained hard enough to the administration, but it's something.

I have two labs due on Thursday, three papers due on Friday, as well as three labs, and a paper due Monday. Then finals run from the 10-17th.

I'd LOVE to be off for the whole month - it's going to be lovely. My last final is on the 17th :\, then I'm not back until Jan 4 (for the FINAL SEMESTER of this overwhelming program).

I just applied to a uni this morning.

Teams is a microsoft application - it's what all my classes are on this year. It seems okay - I've never used it for anything else though.

I'll see if I can figure out how to make it work, thank you. Looks like they offer 60 minutes free group calls, as opposed to zoom's 40. that would make my work a little easier at least.

Hope it works for you, Iris!

I am blowing apart at the seams. I've been working almost full time for the last two weeks to meet a research deadline, WHILE watching my lectures online during work hours, WHILE trying to get all my final papers handed in before Monday. Finals are next week. I am dying.

I meant to work last night too, but my brain broke down and I played video games for two hours and then cleaned my room, and lit a candle on my altar for the first time in literally months. I've been wanting to rewrite the grimoire I made as a teenager, as a lot of stuff in it no longer pertains, and I bought this beautiful leather bound book in Austria two years ago, but the pages are thin and blank and I get too hung up on how stuff looks....so last night, I started rewriting it again in just a shitty decomposition notebook, and I already feel happier about it. Apparently, in order for me to actually use it, I've gotta be messy and just accept my mistakes.

Maybe I can finish rewriting it over the holidays.

It's a little weird being offered a draw in a position where I'm obviously winning and would need to actively try to lose the game. It'd be one thing if there was some ambiguity but a king and two pawns who will never promote vs a king and four pawns where at least one and possibly up to three of the pawns (depending on if I'm feeling extra sadistic or not) will promote is not an ambiguous position. It's extra funny because my opponent knew full well that their position was doomed. They resigned once I refused the draw offer.

Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

Cool. Congratulations on winning the chess game. I play chess myself but I'm a low-tier player with a few tricks up my sleeve.

Be glad yer not in the U.S.

There are still theoretical procedural shenanigans that can be played in January. I don't expect them to happen do to the magic words of "Acting President Nancy Pelosi"* but there are procedural shenanigans available till after Congress receives and counts the written votes on January 6.

                                * Basically, all available shenanigans have the potential (and it's almost entirely the call of the House) to end in indefinite stalemate and Trump's term ends on January 20. Indefinite stalemate doesn't keep him in office, it vacates the office and you move down the order of succession. VP vacates at the same time as President so the next in line to serve as Acting POTUS until the stalemate ends is the Speaker of the House. As Democrats won the House, shenanigans can very easily lead to Nancy Pelosi taking an oath to serve as acting President. If anyone wants a very detailed breakdown of all the ways that shenanigans end badly for the GOP right now then

                                is worth seeing.

Warning: When the guy making the above video gives a disclaimer that there will probably be foul language, listen.
