      Re: Running Chat Thread!

I know it will shock you guys, given the past couple of months, but we actually had chat last night! Yay!

This Sunday is Writer's Guild. Unless otherwise noted, we will be talking about influences this Sunday. What authors give you great ideas? Not just plot concepts, or world-building...who do you find has a really rich, juicy style, that makes you want to pick up a pen yourself when you read them?

I was wondering is it decided whether it's a Kemetic chat or a Hellenistic chat tonight?

Psst... We do have a calendar that displays which chat. And if you click on it, it should tell you what time, too.

                  This Sunday is Cook's Guild!

I may or may not be there, depending on whether I get dragged to church by my in-law's or not.

The topic is spring seasonal produce: Asparagus, late citrus, strawberries, Mexican mangos....what is your grocery store getting in? How are you cooking with it?

                      Re: Running Chat Thread!

I had an idea. I would like to see a chat, or a series of chats that touch on the topic of being in Spiritual Limbo. By that I mean... those who used to have a faith, a path, a belief and just kind of... lost it. Drifted away from it, lost touch, forgot, let go. Those who currently are wandering looking. I see this a lot. Many people come here with the "I'm in between paths right now" like they would say "I'm between jobs" or something.

A belief is something very personalized and important. Even if it's the belief in nothing. And I would like to see questions and answers to and for those whom are looking for guidance - regardless of which direction it leads into.

What does everyone think about this idea?

                        Re: Running Chat Thread!

I think its a good conversation.

I know we tried the 10 questions thing, and it was too many questions (we got to 5 or 6?)...but what if people came up with topics concernting them--issues, questions, etc and PM'd them to whomever is the chat host, and they organized them to have a sort of an outline to keep things moving is they bog down? And then we can take however many chats we need to to cover it?

I've tried to get people to PM me with topics before, and only a bare handful ever did. Perhaps if we did some sort of countdown until chat started again? Something to get people's attention and get them thinking?

I personally like the idea, Juni. It sounds like it'd give people a chance to figure out what they believe and "outsiders" an understand of what a person believed and see if those beliefs resonate.
