No problem....I'm from the area, and I think it helps me know what to search for.

As far as places to stay goes (beyond tonight), have you ever thought of couch surfing? (www.couchsurfing.org). I've been hosting surfers this week and it's really great, and I just did a quick search of hosts in towns on North Vancouver Island (you have to type in the specific place) and there seems to be a good number of people willing to host!

I think everyone who's into cheap travel should know about the amazingness that is couch surfing! It's free, you get to stay with locals, which gives you a different experience of a place, and most of the people who are into it are pretty cool.
