Re: Whats everyone reading now or read lately

I read the Earth's Children series by Jean M. Auel AGAIN. I love that series. Best ever

    RIP

I have never been across the way
Seen the desert and the birds
    You cut your hair short
Like a shush to an insult
    The world had been yelling
Since the day you were born
    Revolting with anger
While it smiled like it was cute
    That everything was shit.

Does re-reading my art books and working on mastering painting techniques count? Otherwise I haven't been doing much reading. Really want to though :/

I just started reading A Witches' Bible: The Complete Witches' Handbook by Janet and Stewart Farrar. It is quenching my thirst for esoteric, witchy knowledge quite nicely

Besides reading D-Day, I am also reading a cookbook called Japanese Cooking by Shizuo Tsuji. I have waited a long time to get this cookbook and so far everything I have read is very interesting. I love asian food and cooking and am very interested in cookbooks about asian cooking...especially Japanese cooking.

I would think it would. I keep rereading The Dot and the Line (it's a romantic math book and very short). I also keep rereading The Butter Battle Book (I am a Dr. Seuss fan, always have been).

You should read Allison Pang's books if you haven't. She's actually a friend of mine and they feature a sexy incubus and a tiny unicorn pervert. It's awesome.

I haven't, but I'll look at hers next!

I suffer from SRS--Speedy Reading Syndrome. I can go thru a 400 page paperback in about 3 hours, so feeding the habit is expensive. It wouldn't be all that bad, except that I'm not normally a re-reader. I have to really, really LOVE the book to read it again and again (which would be a much cheaper way to feed my compulsion).

They aren't romance but if you haven't worked through Jim Butcher's Dresden Files yet and like urban fantasy, read them.

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

Finished my 3rd round of The Satanic Witch just to make sure I have a decent understanding of the ideas.

Now am slowly picking through The Satanic Bible. With books like these, I don't like to rush, so I am also supplementing my frivolity with Darkly Dreaming Dexter.

I am obsessed with Victor Hugo's Les Miserables. Just thought I'd put that out there for those who didn't already know.

OMG. Me too. I named my bassoon Viktore (I was a dark snowflake for a long time but refuse to change his name) out of love for Victor Hugo. Enjolras is my absolute favorite character. I even like the musical!

Enjolras is my favorite too! He's also the one I identify with the most. I love everything about his character. I love everything about Les Mis actually, movie and musical both.
And Viktore is a wonderful name for a bassoon I think!
