Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World, by Paul Stamets.

The author is a certifiable mushroom fanatic, and he definitely takes the big dive into overblown hyperbole in this book - however, he also happens to be a tireless experimenter, and may well be the single most knowledgable expert on mushroom growing techniques in the world, so this book is an odd, but interesting, read.

It is both a fungus-lover's Bible, and lab manual for outdoor mushroom cultivation. I'm going to get a lot of experiments to keep me occupied from this one (I also recommend his two previous books on mushroom cultivation - The Mushroom Cultivator: A Practicle Guide to Growing Mushrooms at Home, and Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms).

I am now listening to the new release of David Wellington's Positive. So. Let's say you are infected with a prion disease. You know you can't test for those. It's hidden in your brain. Eating it away. You can only check for it after you die so they can cut your skull open. No. This is NOT part of the fiction. This is the science.

Now part of the fiction? What if that prion disease kicked in and caused you to be extremely hungees. Like ZOMBIE HUNGEES?!

Now what if when you got infected, let's say through a bite. No. Not a bite. Maybe a spot of blood flew into your eye. Or. Or your mom breast fed you.

Now that prion disease aka the zombie hungees doesn't kick in immediately like all those zombies movies. Oh no. It could kick in any minute from now till 20 years. That's the incubation period. And if you possibly could be infected and they have no way of knowing it, you get a big plus tattoo on your left hand. And you go live out in the waste land.

Have a good trip. See you in 20 years.

Started The Sagas of Ragnar Lodbrok this weekend and it's pretty good. It's not too long so I should be able to finish it soon enough .

I'm actually delving back into Luis Marquis's books. Right now studying the Book of Orion... It's kinda long and a lot of the stuff in it I forgot lol

My ex GF from a ways back read that,and I read a bit of it...very s and m kinda thing,dom-sub thing...so depends on your attitude to those topics how it effects you

Yea, barely a page goes by without someone getting punished. I see how offends some, but it's really not bad I think. Not a bad book, though it's not as well written as her vampire chronicles.
