X'ers and Y'ers and Z'ers and Boomers oh my..Now C'ers
Re: X'ers and Y'ers and Z'ers and Boomers oh my..Now C'ers
I'm generation X, but I think I'm closer to the 'Me' generation than the Slacker Generation.
I think they're calling the 'Millennial' generation 'C' because it's something to do w/that Roman numeral moreso than anything to do with marketing. I've heard/seen a few things labeling the kids born w/in the last 10 years or so the 'iGen', lol.
The forum member formerly known as perzephone. Or Perze. I've shed a skin.

Uhm... Lemme see...
I'm post boomer, and pre yuppie.
What am I?
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.
Do you still consider patchouli as a pleasing scent??
Weirdly, that's what's in the burner at this very moment.
Perzephone, I think I prefer eulogiboomer. But not protoyuppie.

I see what you mean, but demographics are something that's extremely important in marketing and the study of marketing. They don't make them up, but rather go into intense studies about it. What I find amusing is that Nielsen, a marketing research company, has decided to rename a generation already deeply studied.
Re: X'ers and Y'ers and Z'ers and Boomers oh my..Now C'ers
Depending on who you ask I either fall under Gen X (tail end) or Gen Y . I guess that makes me cool enough to eat up your bandwith but not cool enough for most except Pepsi.
Re: X'ers and Y'ers and Z'ers and Boomers oh my..Now C'ers
I consider myself Gen X...depending on whose dates (like Strauss-Howe) you go with, it either ends in the late 70s or early 80's...I was born in 80, and I identify with Gen X events as being cornerstones of my childhood.
Re: X'ers and Y'ers and Z'ers and Boomers oh my..Now C'ers
Even in '84 though I still identify with a bit of Gen X....like the pop culture and such. I think my values are a lot in tune with Gen Y though. Every time I read an article about Gen Y and working styles, or Gen Y and consumption patterns, I'm like 'ya that's me'
