It's my first Ostara soon and I'd like to celebrate it, but I don't have all altar tools, it's hard to find flowers this time of year (I don't have a money to buy much) and etc.. Have I wait to the next time or is there some other and easyer way to respect/celebrate it?

Re: Ostara
Are flowers actually necessary? Are any tools really necessary? I'm not sure what you were planning to do, but if you don't have "things" the gods usually understand. The important thing is to honor them. Since I don't know if you have any specific ideas on that in mind, I can't really offer any additional advice.

Re: Ostara
I agree with Omidottir, tools aren't really necessary. I think it'd be better to celebrate Ostara in any way you can rather than ignore it for this year because you couldn't find certain things. Have a look around your house or your environment. Be creative. Think outside the box. Making your own special celebration rather than "sticking to the rules" so to speak will probably make things more meaningful for you anyway.

All you need is your good self. I like the idea of making origami/paper flowers, as Peri_dot suggests too. You could do a simple candle situal, or if you don't even have a candle, just meditate. It really depends on how you were planning to celebrate. I like to do a ritual, but after that, I like to get to the chocolate eggs and bunnies!夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?

Re: Ostara
We celebrate Ostara in our home as a time for cleansing, blessing and new beginnings...for us, we have daffodils and such in bloom, but its not a necessity (heck, the tulips were up and blooming in January, the weather has been so mild).Wonderful Life: The Burgess Shale and the Nature of HistoryPagan Devotionals, because the wind and the rain is our Bible

Re: Ostara
when i was a student, I was still a kid. i remember i got grounded right before beltaine that year. I called my teacher (she was a funny, grumpy cuban woman. and 32. i thought she was OLD) she told me to fix a cup of tea and sit in a window. to meditate on the season, and give honor to the gods. (this was before i was permitted to do things like casting a circle, and i wasnt allowed to go outside at all) I have to say, it was as meaning ful as the most elaborate ritual i have been in. INTENT. that is the key to honoring the gods. form is nothing without it.

Re: Ostara
Since it is approaching and all, and we've discussed acoutrements... what do you all actually DO to celebrate?
I have always associated the Equinoxes with the Persephone / Hades / Demeter mythology (Greek). I've tried to do the Eostre thing, but she's such an obscure figure that I had a hard time. Our coven did cascarones once. We blew the innards out of eggs, painted the eggs pretty colors and filled them with birdseed. We used these in ritual as rattles and each of us put our energy into a goal or wish we wanted. Then, we went outside and threw the eggs as hard as we could, smashing them and releasing the energy (as well as feeding the birds). It was a fun project and one that could easily be done in a ritual where children are present.
Here is a prayer I wrote for Ostara (there is a corresponding one for Mabon). Feel free to use / share, just give me credit please.
Litany for Ostara
By Omidottir
Hades, Lord of the Underworld!
Let her come
Ruler of the Deeps
Let Her come
Holder of the Earth’s wealth
Let Her come
Husband of Persephone
Let Her come
Day and Night are again equal
Let Her come
Now is the time for Her return
Let Her come
Let Her come
Let Her come
Persephone, Maiden Goddess of Spring!
Return to us
Bringer of warmth
Return to us
Daughter of Demeter
Return to us
Bride of Hades
Return to us
Day and Night are again equal
Return to us
Now is the time for your return
Return to us
Return to us
Return to us
Demter, Goddess of the Fields!
She comes
Bringer of corn and grain
She comes
Fosterer of new growth
She comes
Mother of Persephone
She comes
Day and Night are again equal
She comes
Now is the time for Her return
She comes
She comes
She comes
Demeter, Persephone, Hades!
We praise you
Winter has relented
We praise you
The world rejoices in Spring
We praise you
We praise you
We praise you!
