    Correspondence Lists

    Candle color

    White
    Concentration rituals, meditation work, divinations, truth, peace, spiritual strength and lunar energy. May be substituted for any color candle.

    Yellow
    Spells involving attraction, charm confidence and persuation. Like gold, it can serve for magick and rituals involving solar energies and deities associated with the sun.

    Gold
    Fosters understanding and attracts the powers of cosmic influences; beneficial in rituals intended to bring about fast luck or money, or in rituals needing solar energy.

    Pink
    Promotes romance, friendship; standard color for rituals to draw love; brings hope, restful sleep, and pleasant dreams. Rose is great for treating heart ailments, anxiety, depression. It is also good for people who suffer from nightmares.

    Red
    Health, passion, love, fertility, strength, courage, will power; increases magnetism in rituals; draws Aries and Scorpio energy.

    Silver
    Removes negativity and encourages stability; helps develop psychic abilities; attracts the influence of the Mother Goddess.

    Purple
    Power, success, idealism, psychic manifestations; ideals for rituals to secure ambitions, independence, financial rewards, or to make contact with the spiritual other world; increases Neptune energy.

    Magenta
    Combination of red and violet that oscillates on a high frequency; energizes rituals where immediate action and high levels of power or spiritual healing are required.

    Brown
    Earthly, balanced color; for rituals of material increase; eliminates indecisiveness; improves powers of concentration, study, telepathy; increases financial success; locates objects that have been lost. Those born under Capricorn will be more potent in their work.

    Indigo
    Color of inertia; stops situations or people; use in rituals that require a deep meditational state; or in rituals that need Saturn energy.

    Royal Blue

    I read some where that North, South East and West had colours. Due to space/storage issues I would like to use 4 candles in my circle.

      They do, and those colors largely correspond with the elemental correspondences for those directions. For Wiccan style circles, this is a decent resource on those correspondences, though if you choose to use different direction-element correspondences (I base mine on location), you would need to adjust your color correspondences accordingly.

      Honestly though...correspondences and symbolism work best when they agree with YOU...just because tradition and/or some dude dictate yellow=air, if air to you is silver or something, use that instead.

          I had made a correspondence table for myself and went pretty in depth. I based it off many different sources but some I filled in myself based on my own logic and personal affinities.

                  So much power is tied up with our personal belief system. If YOU perceive light as protective it will be so for YOU. And yes, many people also believe as you do, thus adding to its inherent power.
