    The Wolverine

The Wolverine. Heard of it? It's coming soon! This is the place to post all those things about the movie. So I don't fill up the forum with my rants and raves and fan girl mode style diatribes.

The filming will begin any minute!

*Dumuzi is only allowed in here if he only says nice things about Wolvie.

Seriously though. This will and I mean BETTER be a better version then the first one. It's not a sequel to Origins. It's more like another comic adventure..set in Japan. These stories have been known to be some of THE best ones told of Wolverine.

Will Yun Lee is the first to be 'officially' cast as Silver Samurai.

Wolverine's seriously getting ANOTHER movie? And still no word on a Captian Britain movie... Or an Alpha Flight movie...
Trust is knowing someone or something well enough to have a good idea of their motivations and character, for good or for ill. People often say trust when they mean faith.

So far Wolverine: Origins has raked in $374 million dollars. Captain America has raked in $369 million.
Wolverine opening weekend took in $85,000 while Captain took in about $65,000. Production budget was $150 million and $140 million Wolvie/Captain.

I don't hate wolverine, he's just everywhere. He's almost as ubiquitous as steven blum or hydrogen.

Hercules is around 3000 years old, and he's barely seen at all outside his comics.

I'll watch it, but it won't be the "true" Wolverine; to do that they'd need to make an R-rated version. And that would be commercial suicide, so it won't happen.

Arnold killed any chance of a Hercules movie back in the 70's.

There are rumors of an 'R' rated Wolverine.

What's an R rated movie, Medusa? We just get age ratings mostly here in the UK.

                      Re: The Wolverine

R-rated movies can't be viewed in theaters by anyone under 17 without an accompanying parent. They generally get that rating by certain degrees of violence of sexual content.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

                      Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

Ah, I understand, thank you! I think the nearest in the UK would be an 18 rating then.

Jessica Biel is in talks to star as Viper in 'The Wolverine'. This would be one of his ex-wives he was forced to marry. I hate her. But...she's sorta smart what she did there. I'm torn....But I do think Jessica could play her..just die her hair dark.

I'm not liking all the womenz in this movie.

In the US, we have the following:

                              G: General audience
                              PG: Parental guidance suggested.
PG-13: Parental guidance, no child under thirteen admitted without parent
R: Restricted; under seventeen not permitted without parents, probably should be called PG-17.
NC-17: No children seventeen and under admitted. No provision for being with a parent.
X: A non trademarked rating (meaning that anyone can apply it to their films) meaning adults (18 and older) only. While an X rating is most commonly associated with pornography, that was not the case prior to the seventies. An X rating can be for explicit, unsimulated intercourse, extreme violence, or anything else that would be considered adult only. Some films that had an X rating were moved to NC-17. Some films are given a rating of XX and XXX, but these are not recognized by the MPAA, which only recognizes 'X'.

From PG through R, there is a lack of consistency in what gets what rating, with some movies, like the recent Conan getting an R-rating for violence while others, like Lord of the Rings, getting by with a PG-13 because similar violence is perpetrated against orcs which aren't "human." Thus the term 'Fantasy Violence.'

Also, some films have unnecessary content added in order to earn it a stronger rating; Spielberg added a line to E.T. where one brother relates the breath of the other to the male genitalia, which was out of place with the rest of the movie. He did this specifically to get a PG rating instead of a G rating. Ironically, this same man had all of the guns carried by the police digitally changed to walkie talkies in later video releases of the film in order to make it more kid friendly (presumably, he left the bathroom humor intact).
