    Random question

Has anyone else noticed that at any one time there's usually around 10-20 registered users online and then 80-120 guests just floating around not actually posting anything? Weird.

Not so much spammers as they vast majority of these "guests" are what's called a Spider. They're bots that collect data and build lists based on the data collected which is in turn used to build a base for search engines.

Some of them are actual people browsing the site, too.

It's pretty common to most internet forums. There's usually a 'core' of regular visitors that post the majority of items and a lot of lurkers, spiders, bots, etc.
