I'm so so sorry that regular chats have taken the back burner, you guys. Mea Culpa.
Here's why, short version: Was really sick last fall. Sorted that out just in time to move to CA. Got a job and was living in a hotel, moved into an apartment, THEN L finally got hired, and we found that two of us could NOT both commute up the SF peninsula! It took waaaay too many resources.
So, good news is, I have a new job. Start this Saturday.
Bad news is, I will work nights, and any nights I'm not working will often be pre-empted by family matters.
Because of this, if the forum wants regular chat events (for those of you who are new, we used to have chats on a set subject twice a week), I need some volunteers. If we do a similar setup to last time, we would have set chats on a weeknight, rotating through, and trade off more general religion topics and something like a writer's club and a cooking club on Sundays. This means that each thing would only be once or twice a week, making it easy to schedule it in without it being a drain on anyone's resources. I will keep the calendar and announcements running, but will only be able to attend now and then.
What I need is people who will figure out a topic for a specific event, give it to me, and be present that night to get things rolling. It can be a roundtable conversation, how-to, Q&A, you name it! All that I ask is that it's tilted toward the perspective of that "branch" of the pagan family when the conversation gets started.
This is what we had before:
Weeknight chat (and I'm happy to pole again to see what night is best):
Heathen night
Kemetic night
Hellenist night
Celtic night
Eclectic night
On Sunday morning (this allows non-American time zones to make it)
Interfaith discussion: more open topics ("what is prayer, and how does it work for you?), Q&A's with interfaith members or information/presentations on other belief systems, other topics that can be gentle, mellow, uplifting, etc...
Writer's workshop
Cooking workshop
Ok, folks, I need help if we want to get this running again with the school year. If you're willing to help once a month (or even once every other month for some of the specific pagan groups) please talk to me on here, or PM me. This was very beneficial, and I'm sorry this past year has been so nuts that I had to let it drop.
As a reminder, too, our chat room lobby is always open! If you are just hanging out, put a note in the General Chat thread and let people know!
