I'm fine. Just more interested in Touhou these days, and haven't had much else to say of other matters than I've already said. Just in general I've been really busy and haven't spotted any threads that piqued my interest.

Working with 9th grade students on how to evaluate evidence. We've been doing that by looking at "evidence" for ancient aliens and Electronic Voice Phenomenon, then evaluating according to Carl Sagan's Baloney Detection Kit.

Today, we had a 20 minute class, so I did a clumsy psychic reading in the style of ghost talker John Edwards.

Even though I told them afterward what I was doing , that it was a trick, that it was absolute BS, the student I zeroed in on came up to me after class and tol;d me I had hit the nail directly on the head, and she was wondering if, maybe, I actually had psychic abilities...

I used to do card tricks as a kid..got the big book of magic tricks for my 8th birthday,also learned to do card flourishes,and fancy shuffles. Got pretty good at them too.
Practiced in front of a mirror so my slight of hand was smooth.

Booked my next vacation. Staying at the Westgate resort and casino in Las Vegas for 4 days in september! Got a great deal the weekdays after Labor Day.

The kids have one of those giant plastic containers of cheese puffs that are about the size of a round fish tank...or a full head helmet. They left the container out without the lid.

The dog got his head stuck in it, while trying to eat cheese puffs (or as they call them, cheesy pouffes). It was hilarious.


...but of course, by the time I had the phone in camera mode, he figured out that if he stopped eating them, he could get it off his head.

Today is my beloved horse's 11th birthday, and it's the 8th anniv. of the first time I ever stepped foot in this house. And, I'm fitting into the same jeans I wore that day. (There was a little "upward mobility" LOL in clothing size when I started having arthritis problems, until I found a workaround so that I can get out for little walks).
And, it's Kentucky Oaks Day!
