Came home a day early from my trip. Had a real bad migraine. Ugh. I'm glad to be home, but miss my friend. Look forward to the next time to see her and her family.

I got mansplained today at work...

I'm not sure if I'm pissed or amused.
“You have never answered but you did not need to. If I stand at the ocean I can hear you with your thousand voices. Sometimes you shout, hilarious laughter that taunts all questions. Other nights you are silent as death, a mirror in which the stars show themselves. Then I think you want to tell me something, but you never do. Of course I know I have written letters to no-one. But what if I find a trident tomorrow?" ~~Letters to Poseidon, Cees Nooteboom

“We still carry this primal relationship to the Earth within our consciousness, even if we have long forgotten it. It is a primal recognition of the wonder, beauty, and divine nature of the Earth. It is a felt reverence for all that exists. Once we bring this foundational quality into our consciousness, we will be able to respond to our present man-made crisis from a place of balance, in which our actions will be grounded in an attitude of respect for all of life. This is the nature of real sustainability.”
    ~~Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee

"We are the offspring of history, and must establish our own paths in this most diverse and interesting of conceivable universes--one indifferent to our suffering, and therefore offering us maximal freedom to thrive, or to fail, in our own chosen way."
~~Stephen Jay Gould, Wonderful Life: The Burgess Shale and the Nature of History

"Humans are not rational creatures. Now, logic and rationality are very helpful tools, but there’s also a place for embracing our subjectivity and thinking symbolically. Sometimes what our so-called higher thinking can’t or won’t see, our older, more primitive intuition will." John Beckett

Went to the Morgantown Witches Ball today and had some fun. It was so damned hot. Why does it still feel like August? I got some goodies for myself and I dyed my hair teal for the occasion. It won't last too long though. I think I look like Sailor Neptune, but with a much darker tone.

It was in the upper 80's here in MO, too. Still practically no color in the leaves.

It's like August in October. I just want some frigging relief! The thing is that if we don't get some snow and frost this Winter, then it won't we could have a real bad medical issue like last Winter where the bugs (viruses) weren't killed off like they needed to be. So lets hope it will get colder soon!

It's cooling off now. And, Ireland's getting a hurricane! Strange days indeed.

    Re: Whatcha thinking about now?

I slept through it because of work, but we had a weird phenomenon happen yesterday where the sun turned brown and everything was dark with a brown hue all day. Apparently people were freaking out because it was like something out of a horror movie. Most reports are saying it's debris in the atmosphere from the Sahara that hurricane Ophelia stirred up. Wish I could have seen that. I slept great though. My room must have been pitch black!
夕方に急なにわか雨は「夕立」と呼ばれるなら、なぜ朝ににわか雨は「朝立ち」と呼ばれないの? ^^If a sudden rain shower in the evening is referred to as an 'evening stand', then why isn't a shower in the morning called 'morning stand'?
