I'm not seeing how he harmed or even modified the object. If he actually modified anything on the object to pull his photoshoot then yes, charge him with desecration. Using it as a prop in a photoshoot best titled, "I am asshole, hear me roar," might make him guilty of a misdemeanor somewhere (especially since I'm sure it isn't his statue) but I have issues with treating it as a felony and I suspect that it can be negated on Constitutional grounds.life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
