Greetings all, I'm Yex. I'm a 24-year-old bearded fellow from southern California originally, but now residing in Seattle, Washington. My religious orientation is a form of Christo-Paganism/Christo-Druidism. I am fundamentally a Christian, but I also draw heavily from animism in my understanding of the universe. Veneration of the spirits of nature and the ancestors is an important part of my practice. I also venerate some deities from polytheistic pantheons, although I view them more as "spirits", subservient to the supreme divinity, as opposed to "Gods/Goddesses", but that's more of a matter of semantics, so I sometimes use the those terms anyway. My main patron is Grandmother Momoy, a goddess traditionally venerated by the Chumash Native American tribe; I'm also dipping my toes in the water with Brigid, after having a good experience at a recent Imbolc ritual, and because she is a patron of poets and bards; I'm also loosely connected to Papa Legba, the Voodoo Lwa (although I am by no means an initiate of Voodoo). An eclectic mix, I know. Along with Momoy I also have a strong connection to certain animal sprits (primarily Crow, Bear, and Penguin, although recently Salamander as well), and pay tribute to them as well. I don't attend any Christian church - in part because I dislike sectarianism, and view the true "Church" as the union of all living beings through divine love - although some years I'll pick a church more or less at random to go to on Easter. I've started attending Druid rituals held by a local chapter of ADF, and it seems like a good fit.
With the rest of my time, I make music under the name Salute to the Salmon, occasionally play Magic: the Gathering, get lost in books, and watch old 60s episodes of Doctor Who. I'm also a stay at home father to an almost two-year-old daughter, so that takes up the majority of my days.
Anyway, it's good to find this forum, and I'll try to contribute what I can to discussion!
