This is a quick update of everything going on over here.

- On June the 1st, the army released a statement, in the afternoon, warning that if the people of Egypt that are filling the streets of Egypt are not addressed within 48 hours, then they will have to intervene and do 'something' about it.

- Protests are still going on ever since I posted here last time. It's almost 1 Am here and people are still in the street with huge numbers.

- Clashes did take place in a few places, including inside Cairo. People have been killed. No clashes near the huge demonstrations though.

- Morsi addressed the nation at about 11:30 PM on June the 2nd, claiming he is a legitimate democratically elected president, and he has to take responsibility and continue his term as president. He refused to leave office.

- The Tamarud (Rebel) campaign, who are the ones that organized the protests, and collected the signatures to get rid of Morsi, just announced that three of them, with a representative of the opposition (El Baradei) are going to meet with the army to reach an agreement on a post Morsi 'road map'.

I went back to the Presidential Palace on the 1st of June. This time it was more festive. My brother and mother were already there. You could see families every where. Women and children. Fireworks and laser pointers every where. And army helicopters even flew by, waving an Egyptian flag.

But there was supposed to be a special appearance by one of my favorite Egyptian bands, Cairokee. The stage set up by the #Tamarud (Rebel) campaign was already there from the day before, and so Cairokee were supposed to play on it. And so they did! It was like being at a concert. Everyone jumping, singing and cheering. You could tell everyone was happy, and very determined to keep on going until the fall of the current regime. I had a very good time.

Here's a very short video of one of their songs, I recorded while I was there. (I'll have to make another blog post about their songs). This one is called, "The Sound of Freedom".

Here they are on stage

I decided to take picture of people praying, just to prove to Morsi supporters we aren't evil disbelievers who want to destroy Islam. That's what they feed their supporters to have grounds to stand on. Imagine that, someone doubting my religion? Me?!

PS:

Just for fun, you can't have a protest in the middle east unless you diss America
