My father died today. I didn't live with him; he was a druggie, and an alcoholic. He was fifty. I'm still not sure how I should respond. Good energy is welcome.

Edit: At least today is an appropriate day to die, I suppose.

I would really appreciate any good vibes from anyone at this point. I'm a single mom who finished school in August and I'm still having trouble finding a job in my chosen field. It's at the point where I'm dipping into savings to pay rent and feed my son. I would deeply grateful for your prayers, vibes, thoughts so that I can find something so that I'm not panicking over how I'm going to support my son and myself.

I know how it is trying to find a job. There are a lot of good job search sites online like: startwire.com, indeed.com, etc... You can also go to about.com and they have a section to help with finding a job and with your resume. I will definitely be praying for you hon. Good luck in your search!

Speaking from personal experience, sometimes you have to take the job you can get while you keep looking for the job you want.

hey, so there have been threats of racist violence at my school (University of Missouri). several people have received death threats and/or images of swastikas Tweeted to them. several of the professors have cancelled class and asked their students to stay home for their own safety, the Multicultural center (a sanctuary for students of color on this campus) is closed today for their safety, and the leaders of the student-led civil rights movement are asking the black student population to stay off campus and move in groups to protect each other and stay alive. my roommate was crying last night saying she doesn't want to go back to campus because she thinks she or someone she knows might die.

so um. I'm requesting a prayer for MU. this is scaring me.

I am surprised at the Media playing these things down..from the media "A few African-American students have had the N word shouted at them" No mention of threats of violence on the "News" My thought is it may be an outside group stirring things up. They just arrested 3 white power types for planning church bombings and attacks on Synagogues. Might be a push by white power types.
