          Re: Whatcha Eatin'?

I've found that when left to my own devices, I tend toward whole foods, almost a combination raw food-fruitarian diet. I get my produce from the farmer's market and buy "processed" whatever I can't find there - meat, eggs, milk, rice, cereal; kitchen staples I can't get at the market, basically. I also buy frozen vegetables at the grocery store because they keep longer and are supposedly frozen at their peak freshness. I don't (yet) know any farmers who sell meat, eggs or milk, but I'd be interested to find some and compare prices.

I took the bus downtown and back this morning so I could hit the market and got some great stuff for good prices - four papayas for one dollar, for example. One woman even tossed me a free bunch of apple bananas. I bought two avocados and lost one somewhere along my way home, but oh well. Maybe some needy person will find it.

Currently eating a banana, an orange, and coffee (which I take these days with honey and ground cinnamon). Will be having leftover stir fry later.

Just fnished a bowl of Ben & Jerry's Karamel Sutra ice cream with a bourbon chocolate sauce & whipped cream.

It's so damned good. Like, indescribably good.

This will be my tomorrow, but with icewine and brandy.

I wonder if I could do the peach recipe with frozen peaches (I have some left over from the summer)?

Something really horrible for me! A peanut butter and fluff sandwich. So good, but so bad.

Mixed vegetables and "antioxidant blend" fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, pomegranate seeds) with Greek yogurt.

Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. Cabbage soup.

We made corned beef Saturday, and I made soup out of the boil water.

Mm corned beef. Even though I'm Hispanic, once a year my godmother busted out the cornedbeef, deli mustard and a loaf of rye and we went to town.

LOL - the corned beef on rye is a big treat for us, too.

The cabbage soup is probably an acquired taste, though
