    Re: Whatcha Eatin'?

A lovely cup of miso soup that I made myself. I always have it this time in the morning because I need the iodine (seems to improve my thyroid activity: hooray for not being cold all the time!!). But I only recently started making my own instead of using the instant stuff. It works out cheaper and is so much nicer..

Smokey chicken soup, again - smoked a chicken Sunday, and consumed the leftovers today.

I almost like the soup more than the chicken.

      Almost.

Natto!! Bloomin' love the stuff. I got me a few stacks when I was in Newcastle last week..

JP doesn't like the smell or appearance of it, so I bring it to work to eat in peace without someone grimacing like I'm chewing on raw road kill.

Then again, I'm in the 'love it' camp when it comes to marmite. Maybe it's a vegetarian thing.

See, that's a good lookin' slice of pizza. Wicked thin, small crust, a good sized piece, just enough spices and cheese on it ... Of course, I'm slightly biased and I've not really found very many good pizzas outside of the Connecticut/New York area. Even going a little north to Massachusetts, they can't seem to be able to get it right either. They had done a study/taste test and have discovered that the main ingredient that sets various regional pizzas apart isn't the cheese, or the toppings, or the spices. It's actually the WATER used to making the dough! They took the EXACT same ingredients but then used water from different parts of the country, then set out the pies for blind tasting. Folks from whatever area the water came from were able to pick out which slice came from their hometown H2O!

Now as for me and food for today, I dunno. Probably going to be leftovers, lime salt seasoned tortilla chips, and some iced red tea I just finished brewing.

Change in dinner plans. Pasta and broccoli in a homemade cheese sauce with a pretty decent blush wine. I know, I should be drinking white with a cheese sauce, but I don't have one. I'm such a rebel.

I know it's sort of mutated looking, but they're homemade cookies. Peanut butter blueberry cookies with strawberry thumbprints, to be exact.. And, believe it or not, they were made with instant blueberry pancake mix!
