(Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, college has been keeping me busy) So recently, a friend of mine was telling me about the Morrigan having children and/or reapers that do her work. I've never heard of this from anyone who hasn't heard it from him, and Google turned up no results, which seems to make him the only one who knows anything about this. Do any of you wonderful people here on PF have experience with or knowledge of reapers? UPG is fine, but if anyone knows of a source I could go to and find out for myself, I will hug you through my computer several times over.

Re: Morganian reapers?
It sounds like something from a video game called Dragon's Age, but I'm not sure. It's been awhile since I've read any Celtic myths or legends, but I've never heard of the Morrigan having daughters or children at all.The forum member formerly known as perzephone. Or Perze. I've shed a skin.

Yeah... I tend to prefer a decent distance between myself and people who have those sorts of ideas about their various deities. That's about one crazy step away from someone who says, "the Morrigan/Kali/Hades/Satan/God/my dog' says you have to die".The forum member formerly known as perzephone. Or Perze. I've shed a skin.

There is another possibility. If you read "The Guises of the Morrigan - The Irish Goddess of Sex & Battle", by David Rankine, you will see that The Morrigan can be linked to scores of other Goddesses. Granted, this book tends to get what I call "a bit thready" towards the end in that the links to some of the Goddesses gets pretty thin and sketchy. But after reading this book, and following up on some of the lesser known connections, it might be possible to find a Goddess that did have children, or reapers, doing Her work, and confusing Her with The Morrigan. Just another thought.
I would be interested in knowing of anything that he read, or heard that would get him to believe this way.
Thanks in advance.

Originally posted by Tarn View PostAlso, I've never heard of any reference to children in a metaphorical sense. But keep in mind, I don't know everything about The Morrigan either.

I was thinking maybe how Christians call themselves a "child of God", or something like that.

Re: Morganian reapers?
The Morrigan having children to do her bidding? Not sure if she'd really be the type to do that, at least I haven't heard anything like it. As far as I would think, she'd be more inclined to do the deeds herself. Ive heard about her having one child, but nothing more.
