Sounds great! Hope you get in!

Well this Thanksgiving was spent having a headache. I was in the bed for the most part of the day. Mom had made soup yesterday. Dad made a cheesecake yesterday. And I had made banana pudding yesterday without the wafers unfortunately. Still good though. So we had leftovers. My mom and I watched the dog show and I can't believe the whippet won! Not my favorite dog, but oh well. So that's it for my T-Day.

That it's America's annual feast day set aside to rededicate itself to greed and gluttony. Also that working retail might have made me just a little cynical.
life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.

          Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."

John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper

"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."

Aslan, Prince Caspian by CS Lewis

Woot woot, Vol! I hope it goes well. What will you be going to school for again?

Also, this week off has been nice, but my daughter now has a cold and I spent last night up and down with her (about 4 hours total through the night). I'm exhausted and she had to stay home from going to her grandma/grandpa's festivities because grandma has MS and grandpa really doesn't want her catching anything. So, I stayed home while my husband and gf went and am feeling a bit melancholy even though I'm exhausted and volunteered to stay home with her.

Congratulations! I've just started back this year at around age 40, so there's no limit to what you can achieve.

Thanks! Was supposed to go this year and had to cancel because of life and funds.

So I've applied again in another city where expenses won't be as bad. 32 here. What are you taking?

Sounds like a line of study you will really enjoy - and very useful in light of climate change!

Studying software engineering - finally time to pursue my passion instead of what everyone else wanted me to do. :B):

That sounds interesting. Is that the type of degree you need to be a park ranger, or is it something different?

It's funny how some people have this picture in their minds of how your life is supposed to be. I love to break pictures like that XD
I started a traineeship this summer to become a software developer at age 30, which some people already thought was too late and I'm now working as a developer. I'm so glad to have made that step. Good luck to you too with the study, Torey!

I have good news. I got a call from Papa Johns today and have a job interview tomorrow at 2:00. So we'll see how that turns out. Seems like I'm getting nowhere with customer service. Back to food. Oh well a job is a job. Need the money to go back to school.

I got a couple low grades on a couple assignment in Funeral Operations (it's a class of mostly filling in forms, compiling register books, etc). I've still got a B in the class, but I'm kind of disappointing because they were all stupid mistakes. I did a lot of the assignments at the same time a couple weeks ago and misspelled cemetery in ALL of them (ary instead or ery). Apparently missed a few boxes on one form that I had to turn in for three different people, and didn't notice that the register book program had changed birth and death dates back to the day of AGAIN before printing it. It sucks. I got about 50% on two assignments. But I'm trying to shrug it off. I did email the instructor asking how to improve for next time.

In other news, my gf is having serious food cravings. She's vegan and was craving lunch meat sandwiches today. She found a suitable substitute. She is being very careful to watch her vitamin and protein intake. At 10 weeks, she's gaining a bit around the waist, but she doesn't feel like it's a baby bump, she's just feeling like she's getting fat. (I'm guessing some of it's bloating, but she doesn't believe me.) Next appointment is mid-December.
