Did the doc tell him that he may lose a kidney? It seems unlikely, even with persistent stones. They rarely do damage, even if they are painful. Even if that's the case, it shouldn't be too big a deal if they're only removing one kidney (I mean it is, but it shouldn't require a transplant). I know that you're struggling with weight loss right now. That would likely be a factor in whether a doctor will let you donate. Google says anyone over 30 BMI is often restricted, and over 35 is often rejected flat out. Something to think about.

I wondered if he could ever understand that it was a blessing, not a sin, to be graced with more than one love.
It could be complicated; of course it could be complicated. And it opened one up to the possibility of more pain and loss.
Still, it was a blessing I would never relinquish. Love, genuine love, was always a cause for joy.

Thanks for the info Shahaku. He talked to our primary physician and is trying hard to get to see his urologist soon. I don't think he would have to lose his kidney, but it's ridiculous if they would have to go in again for surgery. They need to resolve this issue once and for all. I get tired of this issue always coming up for him. He get's UTIs often and it just isn't good for him or his body.

Do they culture him for a UTI? I'm just curious because when they actually culture me, and I get the symptoms fairly frequently as well, I never show an infection. I often have blood in my urine though. They're starting to think it could be something else (interstitial cystitis, I think is what it's called). One of the causes is frequent trauma to the bladder, and having kidney stones and the associated surgeries could cause that. A lot of the time, stones will pass on their own, but if he's forming them frequently, they should be looking at why.

On another note, I'm a week ahead on my classes, which is exciting. Can't wait to be done with my program.

My daughter's birthday party is on Thursday, at a local restaurant, and I'm preparing for that as well. She doesn't want a regular cake. She wants wine goblets, half filled with M&Ms and then topped with a cupcake and rainbow frosting. I'm making them myself because there is no way I'm gonna be able to afford something that fancy otherwise. I found plastic goblets for $10 at party city and with luck I'll be able to use them again. I spent another $10 on bulk M&Ms, though I may have some left over. A bit more for the cake and frosting ($3 at Dollar tree?) She's having dinner at a local sit down sushi/tepanyaki restaurant with a potential of 8 friends, they charge by the age, so 5yo=$5, unlimited food. I'm just hoping we can coral them all fairly well. OY. It's going to be interesting.

Apparently windows resumed the fall creators rollout in November and I didn't notice. Wonder if I can speed this up via Check for Updates.

At this point in time, Win 10 accomplishes what I want it to with less effort on my part than the other available options. As such, Win 10 gets used.

Re: Whatcha thinking about now? (v2)

I had planned at staying my current job until I was taking my nursing core classes. However at the technical college I am going to requires a CNA as a prerequisite. Problem with that is absolutely no one in my area offers a night time CNA class. The latest I could find is 4 p.m. and I'm not going to lie I was getting really discouraged by that.

Then I found out the hospital here will pay for your cna if you sign a contract and work for them. Which is perfect because they will also work with my school schedule for my nursing degree, and pay for it. They have one coming up in February which I'm a little nervous about take two classes and doing cna training at the same time but they also have one this summer.

                So job change it is!

Thank you! I was really feeling discouraged. I feel like it is extremely difficult for people with full time jobs to go back to school. The tech doesn't offer night time testing hours or weekend ours. The nursing program is only during the day. It's definitely not easy especially when your family is dependent on that second income. But I'm so glad I found another option that can work.

Now I just have to be "hired" for the program.

My dad got some new medicine called in by his primary doctor which is good. He looks like he is feeling better. I'm going on the Nutrisystem Diet tomorrow because my mother wanted me to try it out. It was a special deal on QVC. So I will see how this does. It's not a substitute for lifestyle changes, but I will still try it.

So do both. Make some lifestyle changes and the Nutrisystem Diet.

That's usually the problem with most diets. They don't teach a healthy lifestyle. All they want is to sell their products.
I agree with Kalynraye though. Try the diet and just use your common sense when it comes to living a healthier lifestyle. We all know apples are healthier than cookies XD
