Merry Meet Everyone.
This intro will be somewhat incomplete as I'm just so eager to start meeting you all here. I hope we can get to know each other as I explore.
I have been Pagan for as long as I can remember now and my interests lie in Tarot, Runes and Reiki. I like to keep things simple in my life and in my dealings with it, and I like to treat people as I expect to be treated myself.
It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.
Ram Dass.
I have decided to follow my heart into a place I hope to find peace. Right now I am lost and confused with where others have taken me. I have been led down a path where I thought I should go because every one around me was there as well. The further along I go though the darker that path becomes with elements that have become so opposed to how I feel.
This all started last year when my soul mate was diagnosed with cancer. During this time a group of friends rallied around us and helped us all cope. In February he passed away and since then I was going to a Christian church most Sundays with these friends. As the weeks went on I heard more and more of what went against my own feelings. So many contradictions and the more I hear the more uncomfortable I feel. Just walking through my back yard, feeling the wet grass on my feet sends comfort to me. When I feel the earth beneath my feet I feel connected on a more natural plain, a more ancient plain.
I have always been drawn to ancient woodlands and water and it's time to follow my heart and soul to where it belongs. I feel a need to explore myself and be true to myself so here I am opening my mind to my heart and seeing where it leads me. So far it's led me here and yes even though a wee bit nervous about admitting some truths to myself I feel exhilarated and free to have written this and start a journey on on a path that comforts me rather than one which confuses me.
Welcome to pagan forum. I hope you find many answers to many questions. And more importantly, I hope you find many more questions to help guide you to a path that's suited just for you.

Just reading through a few posts here has made me understand that this is so what I am looking for, no matter what form it may take. This is my choice to suit me and be true to myself and who I am. Thank you for your welcome and I also hope that the answers I find lead to more questions. I totally believe that we never stop learning.
Be advised that by posting in PaganForum, you agree to hold the membership blameless in the inevitable loss of your sanity.
Life itself was a lightsaber in his hands; even in the face of treachery and death and hopes gone cold, he burned like a candle in the darkness. Like a star shining in the black eternity of space.
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous
"But those men who know anything at all about the Light also know that there is a fierceness to its power, like the bare sword of the law, or the white burning of the sun." Suddenly his voice sounded to Will very strong, and very Welsh. "At the very heart, that is. Other things, like humanity, and mercy, and charity, that most good men hold more precious than all else, they do not come first for the Light. Oh, sometimes they are there; often, indeed. But in the very long run the concern of you people is with the absolute good, ahead of all else..."
John Rowlands, The Grey King by Susan Cooper
"You come from the Lord Adam and the Lady Eve", said Aslan. "And that is both honour enough to erect the head of the poorest beggar, and shame enough to bow the shoulders of the greatest emperor on earth; be content."
But they were doughnuts of darkness. Evil damned doughnuts, tainted by the spawn of darkness.... Which could obviously only be redeemed by passing through the fiery inferno of my digestive tract.

I know you did not come here seeking it, but my sorrow for the transitions you have had to face this past year.
I wish for you peace and comfort, in whatever form that may emerge.

Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. The most important thing I have seen/read on this forum is that it doesn't matter what you believe, it doesn't matter what path you take, it doesn't matter where you come from .... all that matters is that you are true to yourself. What an amazing feeling to finally relax and take those deep breaths realizing that you can be who you are rather than what someone else thinks you should be.
Hi all, I just joined today, I'm a 19 year old girl living in the UK who is looking forward to reading through more of the threads and hearing about the opinions and practices of others. I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to introduce myself so this was a bit rubbish
