NOVA - TV show reveals Newton's Alchemical secrets

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/physics...n-alchemy.html

This is an interesting article about one of Sir Isaac Newton's Alchemical manuscripts. The really cool part of it is that there is an interactive thingy which will hep you make sense of the text.

Newton seems to have been primarily a physical Alchemist, so he concentrated mainly on lab work. It's interesting to see how the Alchemists used myths to describe their laboratory processes.

Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Yes - I'm excited to see that these manuscripts are finally being studied seriously. I believe that there will be some interesting revisions in the history of science once the actual experiments that the Alchemists were performing come to light.

These guys weren't the primitive bumblers that history has made them out to be - not by a longshot!
