If you read the 'Silmarillion' you'll understand just how Christian 'Lord of the Rings' is. In the meanwhile just remember that Gandalf does the whole (Jesus) coming back from the dead thing. As does Aslan in C. S. Lewis' blatantly Christian Narnia books. However I feel that both the Middle Earth and Narnia fantasies are gateway drugs, not only to Christianity but also to Paganism and if anything the average Pagan is more into them than the average Christian.
