Re: I saw this and thought about ____________.

This is kind of involved but fits the concept of "I saw this and thought about ____."

With the talk, in another thread, referencing the frozen north, and that fact that V has us Americans beat in the "up north" category, I feel that others get this impression of Canada.

Specifically Yellowknife, as V has mentioned it a couple times. Actually, the above pic was taken in Southampton. 2008.

    Here's downtown Yellowknife:

Which is what I think of in regards to the populated portions of Canada.

And this, the rest of the country:

The only thing missing is mountains.

I pose this question: Why do I not think of snow, and lots of it, when I think of where V lives, or even Canada? Anyone?

Hahahahahaha Europeans always think that too. One of my friends is on the coast (where I'm from) right now, and it's raining in Vancouver, so now she knows :P

Haha! A few facts: Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest Territories, with a fluctuating population of about 20-30,000. It's the biggest city north of 60N. People DO in fact, live north of 60 in Canada. Also, that picture was taken in the summer. Yellowknife, for about two months per year, is free of snow, and gorgeous. It's the other 10 months that picture doesn't show :P

I would like it there, I think...
Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

Whenever I see clips of Jem I think of Jembru.

I loved that show as a kid.

                        That is truly outrageous!

My sister used to have all the dolls, including Jem with real flashing earlobes. Lol

I never had the dolls since I dislike most dolls. I just liked the cartoon.

This thread Corbin made makes me think of Medusa and her colon-like status.

Planning a nice romantic trip to Belgium? Make reservations today, and you and your sweety can spend a romantic evening in a giant replica of the human colon.
