Maybe you just aren't a Christian. Maybe you just like and believe in the possibility of God, but not the Christian God.

There is quite the precedent, though, of not taking the Bible literally in Christianity. Even the early Church Fathers didn't take certain passages literally, and viewed them as metaphor. Especially portions of Genesis and Exodus. And certain facets of Christian belief are malleable. It really depends on what exact details the OP believes or disbelieves.
