Reading some of Eugene V. Deb's I became interested in learning more about Socialism. I was a Social Democrat (think Labour Party) at the time, but had no proper knowledge of what Socialism was outside of the usage of the term in the Soviet Union, the Eastern Block or China. It served as a gateway to expand my political and social ideology which I would not have been open to otherwise.
