Sif is Thorr's wife, mother of Ullr (by her first husband) and Thrudhr (by Thorr) and stepmother to Thorr's sons Magni and Modhi. She is usually said to be wise and calm and gracious, but with a backbone of steel. She's described as the most beautiful of the Asynjur. She has long golden hair that was chopped off as a practical joke by Loki... after which he had the dvergr craft her a wig from real gold as a replacement. When she put it on it molded into her head and grows like real hair. Like all the Asyjnur she's got the stones to stand up to the boys when necessary and is associated with marriage, family and the fertility of the crops.

Of course, in the film she was portrayed completely differently and wasn't anything like the mythology.
