According to several news sources, Josh Duggar had an account with Ashley Madison, the website for people who want to have affairs. Because sometimes your wife AND sisters just aren't enough?

This is why it is always bad to be virtuous in the public eye. Sooner or later the big anvil marked "Acme" will fall. People are what they are, and perfect is never it.

I admit, when I first read it, my immediate response was...well, just like Medusa's. I cackled so much there may be an egg or two on my chair. Then I thought, well, maybe it's not true, and oh his poor wife, because it's all gonna be blamed on her. (If she paid more attention, he wouldn't stray, blah blah blah). The girls are raised in such a fantasy world, it's extra hard for them when this crap happens.

Then, I was reading some comments, and one person wrote "Bet Jim Bob has one too" and that just did me in! LOL

No one's perfect, but it's not like one of the kids shoplifted a toy, or someone got a speeding ticket, etc. These offenses are directly against the "family values" persona the whole clan takes. Just like Bristol Palin's unwed pregnancies, esp. this new one, after her wave of preaching abstinence until marriage.

There ARE people in relationships who never cheat. There ARE people who choose abstinence. You just don't usually hear them rattling on about it & making money for it.

Seriously, the Subway guy, Bill Cosby, the 7th Heaven guy....I'm kinda glad Pa Ingalls and Pa & Grandpa Walton are gone. I'd hate to hear this stuff about them. And the sad thing is it just incites more suspicion in the world. Even I do believe that there are plenty of good husbands out there who would not do this stuff IRL, and when you have this pandemic of sleaze, everyone gets examined for symptoms.

It would not surprise me if the real story is that he's a very deeply closeted gay man overcompensating with women to try & make himself straight. I've known men like that. Some are so deep in denial they don't really know themselves what's going on.
