    Pluto

    Pluto, Pluto, Pluto...


    I was 10 when the New Horizons rocket launched and they said that it would take 9 years to reach it's target of Pluto. I remember thinking that 9 years is a wicked long time that will never come... Well 9 years.. Is today. It's mind-blowing to me that the probe that was going to take forever to travel to Pluto finally made it... Today.

    I'm really excited and my dad was really excited and I know that if he were around, we'd both be talking about it non-stop.

    BTW to me Pluto is still a planet. That's not going to be an argument here.

              Or not because that particular piece of news has no bearing whatsoever on Pluto and I'll become intemperate if politics infects a thread about astronomy.
