    Yup...we are moving out of this corporate apartment, and into a hotel temporarily...then the kids and I go back to IL for a while until Scott (fingers still crossed) starts his federal job and we get our tax money, rent (and furnish) our own apartment, and kids and I come back.

          I hope moving goes as painlessly and stress-free and possible for you.

          For my own petty rant: Who must I buy black votive holders in huge sets? I don't want 72, I don't want 12, I don't even want 6. I just want one. I would be fine with two, just in case I broke one, but I don't need to light an entire house, dammit.

            So I'm having a good few weeks exercise-wise, right? And I capped it off two days ago by BREAKING MY F**KING TOE, right?

            Well here I am, two (or three) days later, and the pain hasn't gone down at all; it's actually getting worse. So, instead of my usual strategy with minor fractures of just letting it heal on its own (which I will freely admit has resulted in a couple of crooked fingers, so probably not the best policy), I'm probably going to have to go to a doctor and spend a ton of money, because I'm beginning to suspect this is a not-so-minor fracture.

            The best part is that classes resume next Monday, at which point I'll start having to walk 2+ miles a day. I have no idea how I'm going to do it.

              I've been ill the whole christmas holidays, back to school tomorrow and an exam in nine days, bloody brilliant.

                    Apparently this year was the most 'dangerous' year for fireworks on New Years Eve in a long time...more injuries and fires than normal. I really wish people would raise more awareness about firework safety...even a couple of days later it's still really scary. People throw them out their windows without looking if there are people out, people thrown them at cars, and even AT people (some kid wanted to fight my friend because the kid threw a firework at him and he told him off for it...and why doesn't this kid see that what he did was wrong???)

                      A lot of the problems with fireworks is the combo of stupid people and Booze,a deadly combo to be sure.

                        Well, after a full night's sleep it's gone back down to its previous level of "throbbing ache" instead of the splintering pain it was doing yesterday, so still no doctor for me I know it's not a compound fracture because I can still move the digit, so I'm going to continue on my previous trajectory of letting it heal on its own. I guess that particular day I had just hobbled around on it too much, and aggravated it.

                          Definitely. But they allow fireworks in Canada on Halloween and it's NOTHING like this....like even in other European cities, it's not as bad here. From about 4 pm until the next day, it sounds like war out. Something like 500 people got injured from them, and it results in millions of Euros worth of damage every year. If this is what my tax dollars go to, I'm not happy about it.

                            How can you be back at school tomorrow?! No other school I know goes back until the 9th. You have to have 2 weeks holiday over Christmas and schools didn't go off until the Thursday before Christmas so you still have at least a few days!
