    This actually came up tonight when I was visiting my dad and sister and we were watching The Grinch film. It's not Christian oriented, but it's more community and family oriented than anything else so we basically came to the conclusion that the holiday itself has likely become more of a cultural holiday than a religious one.

      Yup - celebrate. Have friends, have family, have food, have party.

      Why make it difficult?

      One does not have to be RIGHT all of the time. Sometimes, one can just be.

      Go with that, and enjoy.

      Don't be the one who craps on the holiday dinner by insisting that everything be your way or the highway.

      Nobody, pagan or otherwise, likes crap on the holiday cookies.
      Every moment of a life is a horrible tragedy, a slapstick comedy, dark nihilism, golden illumination, or nothing at all; depending on how we write the story we tell ourselves.

                  I honestly don't care if people in the oil industry don't like that the oil/gas prices are so low right now.

                  Oh, you're hurting right now because of it? Yeah, right. Why don't you try feeding the public some more BS.

                  These guys have got millions, if not billions, to their names, yet they talk about hurting financially. These people are full of it.

                    Yesterday I'm pretty sure I saw a ghost. I told my son about it and his Dad (who is visiting) declared it bullshit and my son - who thinks his Dad farts rainbows - decided he agreed and both of them were downright rude to me, going on about me needing to see a clinical psychologist. Charming.
