      I tried rabbit a couple of times, and just like venison, it's not for me. Duck, now that's yummy. Lots of people say duck and goose are too greasy, but the trick is just to roast it on a rack in a pan, and pierce the skin in a few spots before cooking.

        Duck is absolutely delicious. I want to try goose, but I don't know anyone who hunts them.

          I'm beat.

          Three hour drive to Central Michigan University to meet with financial aid in the hopes that they could tell me what to do so my honors daughter wouldn't have to drop out in her senior year. 15 minute discussion. End result is the same thing everybody tells me - "Sorry. We'd like to help you, but you're just SOL."

          Half hour lunch with daughter. Three hour drive back.

          I hate car.

                  An elderly man thanked me at work today. He tried to grab my hand to kiss it. I don't like being touched. And I don't like having bodily fluids on my skin by people that are not in my bed. What was worse is that he was drunk because he smelled like he drank a bottle of Old Spice. And when I pulled my hand away in a very polite 'um, no thank you'...he king fu gripped me! Like crushed my hand as I was literally pulling my hand away to flee him. I walked very fast to the back room and hid. Me. Because sometimes our male customers are just creepy.

                  I'm never wearing my hair down again or wearing blood red lipstick. Nope. Back to the natural look and pony tail.

                    I'd say there are techniques for breaking most casual grips but the ones I'm most familiar with to free a hand aren't necessarily things you want to do to a customer. They don't necessarily involve actually hurting the guy (much) but being remembered for sticking a senior citizen in a joint lock might be messy.

                          Yeah, so your daughter's college cost issue would be the reason I joined the Navy.



                          I don't think student loans should be automatically forgiven, but I think the interest rate should be something like 1-2%, and only kick in when you mess up paying. And that they should be afordable payments based on your income, and maybe even the money taken out like taxes. And the amount able to be financed from the federal system should be up to the amount that needs to pay for an state school.

                          I think the gov't could make a ton of money if they'd fund VA/HUD loans themselves too...I'd rather pay back the man so some other vet, etc can buy an affordable home than pad some bank's big wig pockets.

                            I like your idea Thal. I took out the loans so I could go to college. I knew what I was getting into but damn me if I don't kick myself on a regular basis when it comes to paying them back. I don't want them to be automatically forgiven but not drowning me would be really nice too.

                              Neither of my daughters would survive basic training, I think. But some kind of "alternate service" would be fully justifiable. I wish it were available.

                              The government should not be a "for profit" lender. The knowledge that it is makes me I'll.

                                One thing about military service these days is,you get to choose if you want to be in the service. I think B. De. there is some conservation core or something going on.
