a/c is on because it's like 90 dang degrees up in here. And by like I mean exactly 90 degrees. I live in hell, as I've often stated. Anywho...I'm in my quiet upstairs secluded dark room. Lying on my new mattress about to fall asleep to King Arthur. The movie I can see with my eyes closed I've seen it so much. It's just the right amount of 13th Warrior stuff for me to sleep to. Plus those men. Oh dear. I can't even begin to pick.
Just finished (finally seeing) Interstellar. I think I cut a bunch of onions. I mean seriously. What was so great about this movie was the sci fi wasn't wrapped so much in science. It was wrapped in humanity. Beautiful. Frightening.
And let's be real folks, the soundtrack makes the movie. I mean omg.
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Starring Spencer Tracy. Yup. What makes this movie awesome is that he was so well known for his kind gentle roles...that to see him turn is amazing. And I do mean evil and vile in the most underrated subdued sense. It was actually terrifying. Usually they show the evil side so over the top that it's laughable. But this was brutally menacing. Especially toward Bergman. I felt for her.
Princess Bride. My friend was appalled that I had made it 28 years of life without seeing it. So I was forced to go to his house and watch it.
I haven't watched ot either. I want to, but I can't find it
You remind me of the babe
What babe?
The babe with the power
What power?
The Power of voodoo
Who do?
You do!
Do what?
Remind me of the babe! Army of Darkness: Guardians of the Chat

I have made a terrible mistake. I watched The Babadook. Alone. In bed. In the dark.
I seriously cannot stress enough the excellent and emotionally charged atmosphere of this movie. It's not gore. It's such a sad tale, I was moved by the sorrow more then the fright. But don't be fooled. I haven't been this frightened in years. I think because of what it symbolized. Quite a beautiful and terrifying movie. Watch it. I dare ya'.
